bohemian bacchanalia

Boston Circus Guild is bringing feats of fun and circus back to Boston this February with Bohemian Bacchanalia, “a world of drunken revelry” featuring talented jugglers, aerialists, acrobats, and even some burlesque. I have had the pleasure of enjoying two of Boston Circus Guild’s 2011 shows, Reign of Revelry and Valve.

I’ve been having a lot of fun photographing many talented performers in the Boston Circus Guild…

hedley

I just received a finished design project, and there’s a small error. Of course, some things can be fixed, and others cannot. Every creative workshop I’ve attended has taught us that mistakes happen, and you fix them. One photography workshop in particular assured us that wedding photographers even lose photos. The thought of that is much scarier than a small typo on, say, a brochure, but any mistake is jarring in a profession where accuracy is paramount.

This is my “oh noz” bunny. Hedley was photographed in July 2006 as part of a stock photography project.

Bunnies.

bowser claws

the flurry of the holiday began early for me; as soon as Halloween was over, I assembled my “studio” in my living room (it’s a sad hodgepodge, but it works) and offered to do headshots for some practice. I ended up with the lions’ share of photography projects, including catalogue shoots for two latex designers, pretty thoughts and rubenesque latex. Photos from those shoots are still forthcoming.

In November I traveled to London, came back home with an awful respiratory infection, and then spent a week in South Carolina. I did get a chance to do a couple Christmas shoots, including a kitty shoot for friends of mine. Bowser is a Maine Coon kitty who is addicted to his Cat Dancer and being the prettiest boy in the room.

isn’t he just a handsome boy? We decided to shoot him au naturel as well….

My goal for 2012 is to post at least once per week. It’s a start, at least. My huge backlog of photos needs to exist separately from my hard drive. :)

Happy New Year!

underdog: holiday photos!

On Saturday, 3 December, I’ll be at Pet Cabaret’s Side Show in Roxbury to photograph Misfit Dogs. The $25.00 sitting fee will include a high-resolution JPEG e-mailed to you; you can order additional prints, too. Feel free to email me to reserve your spot, or show up at either holiday photo event to get a holiday photo of your pet(s). The Sunday, 4 December event in Natick will have a Santa. I’ll have toys and a defeated little Christmas tree. :)
